Clemenger BBDO Sydney Creative Team, Sean Lavery (Copywriter) and Kevin MacNamara (Art Director) have developed a cheeky creative concept for Mitsubishi, to utilize a brand new ambient medium ‘Inflatable Billboards’ aimed specifically, in this case, at the beach going consumer.
Kevin and Sean have worked on this original concept with IBA (Inflatable Billboards Australasia) who are the exclusive license holders in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific Region for patented inflatable billboards. The billboards are designed for use on any surface, water, snow, grass, asphalt, concrete, sand, and the options are limitless because they are lightweight and flexible and suitable for use on buildings and roof areas. The system is modular with the larger billboards being 14’high x 12’ long and is perfect for golf courses and as buoys for water events. The billboards offer a new way to reach people in a striking format that really makes and impression.
This execution for Mitsubishi Colt Cabriolet, a 36’ long x 14’ high inflatable billboard towed slowly behind a boat was seen by approximately 15,000 people at the Brighton Jetty Classics Swim in South Australia on Sunday 4th of February, 2007. (See photos attached)
